One of my favorite parts of a wedding day are the toasts to the new happy couple. It really gives such a great look deeper into the lives of those you've come to celebrate. And the toasts to Katie and Ben definitely did not disappoint.
I knew the first time I met them that they were a power couple. So down to earth and authentic. Just my cup of tea. And the toasts that their closest friends and family shared only confirmed that they are two of the greatest people that currently walk the earth. We were regaled with stories about how neither of them has the ability to put their own needs above someone else's.
And as if the kind words shared about them didn't perfectly illustrate their integrity...they went ahead to show that incredible characteristic of selflessness at the end of their big day. These two couldn't stand to exit their reception until they had helped clean up because they just didn't feel right leaving their loved ones behind to clean up after them. WHO DOES THAT ON THEIR WEDDING NIGHT?! Katie and Ben do. Diamonds in the rough, y'all.
My point in sharing all of that is that this marriage is off to the BEST start. I am pretty certain that they will forever put one another's needs before their own. And a marriage built on selflessness is a marriage that will not only last forever...but a marriage that will flourish and be filled with love and incredible joy. Congratulations, Ben and Katie.
